Heavy Metal War

Plot Summary:

In their first cartoon appearance, the Constructicons steal a new form of energy-generator from a construction site, and use it to power a machine capable of transferring all the Decepticons' special powers over to Megatron. Megatron challenges Optimus Prime to a one-on-one duel in which the loser and all his forces must abandon Earth, then uses the machine, which enables him to win the battle.

Wheeljack: "Let's see how he likes my new shock-blast cannon!" (cannon recoil exceeds blast force, knocking Wheeljack down) "That's a shock all right."

Watch For...

Starscream colored as Skywarp.

Cliffjumper colored as Bumblebee.

Megatron teleports out—but doesn't leave the scene. This didn't happen when the show originally aired.

Comments:

After the fight, Prime makes a statement about not having realized that Megatron had so many powers, which is rather surprising. You'd think that after warring with him for several million years, he would reason all on his own that Megatron must have gotten some kind of upgrade - especially since every ability Megatron displayed during the fight was identical to an ability of one of his Decepticons. Prime shouldn't have needed Chip and Teletran to point this out to him.
