Day of the Machines

Plot Summary:

In order to take control of the world's oil tankers, Megatron re-programs Quantum Laboratories supercomputer Torq III, the first human-built machine that can build and control other machines. Using remote-control circuit-linkers, Torq III redirects a fleet of tankers to the Decepticon base—and Quantum Labs machinery against the Autobots.

Best Dialogue:

Gates: "It's a safe bet those doors are locked."
Prime: "Fortunately, I have a delicate lock-picking technique." (shoots the door)

Skyfire: "We are in deep transistor parts."

Watch For...

Wheeljack just lifts the top off the tank with little effort.

Slag's mouth moves almost as if he should have had dialogue, but he just growls.

Red-headed Sideswipe.

Wicked cool shot of Starscream as he jumps down to the deck of the oil tanker.

Comments:

The security guard doesn't notice the Decepticon emblem on the tape deck? Why is he moving things from what appears to be someone's office to the lost and found anyway?

Despite the fact that Torq IIIis to Decepticon technology as a Speak-And-Spell is to my Pentium IV, Megatron still seems impressed by it.

Why would anyone need a remote control file cabinet? Then again, people have a lot of crap they don't need.

Those are some freaky-looking designs Quantum Labs has come up with. Who's on what over there?

Why is Hound worried about an electro-magnet? I doubt anything as sophisticated as a Transformer would save anything vital to magnetic media. Then again, this was the mid-eighties, before the dawn of digital, so perhaps it just didn't occur to anyone.
